Our Journey

Fatima Gutierrez’s story began when she immigrated to the U.S. from El Salvador at just 13 years old. Despite the challenges of adjusting to a new country and learning a new language, Fatima held onto her love for fashion and design.

During her college years, Fatima faced hurdles due to her immigration status, which limited opportunities like internships with big brands and PR firms. Instead of giving up, she chose to rewrite her narrative.

"I decided to not think of myself as the victim, but to start a business," she says. That mindset shift led to the creation of Guaraxez—a name inspired by “huarache” sandals, reflecting a blend of Latina tradition and modern style.

Bringing Culture to Life

Guaraxez was born out of Fatima’s vision to merge traditional Latina culture with contemporary designs. Collaborating closely with skilled Mexican artisans, she works to bring vibrant colors, bold patterns, and timeless craftsmanship into every piece. From traditional Mexican clothing to huarache-inspired shoes, Guaraxez is a brand that honors its roots while embracing modern trends.
